How to Access and Activate Features

All features but emailing contacts and information/credit on companies are accessible to everyone. Those two are not because they are dependant on contact information links, and that information won't be displayed for non-Members. The other features generally won't allow going past a certain point for non-Members. See the Site Description under "Help" for detailed information about features.

The buttons aligned adjacent to each other in the blue page header are referred to as "navigation buttons" or the "main menu".
  • Getting Help. Hover your mouse pointer over "Help" in the main menu and click on one of the following:

    • Features How To. This page.

    • Site Description. Detailed descripion of the site's features, complete with a glossary of the site, navigation buttons and links to go to and get back from chosen subjects, and links to show other help screens.

    • Trip Planner. Specific help for understanding the display of the Trip Planner™ results. Click here to watch a video demo/tutorial of the Trip Planner™.

    • Load and Truck Lists. Specific help for understanding what you see and how to use the the most-powerful searching capabilities in the industry, those of the load list (Loads->Find Loads) and the truck list (Trucks->Find Trucks), containing navigation buttons to take you to the beginning of each section and back.

    • Daisy Chain. Specific help for understanding the display of the Daisy Chain of Reloads™ results, with recommendations and an explanation of the Daisy Chain Settings. Click here to watch a video demo/tutorial of the Daisy Chain of Reloads™.

    • Video Turotials/Demos. Takes you to another page with eight (8) instructional videos about the features of theloadpost.com. Click them to watch and listen to them.

  • Registering Your Free Username and Password. Click on "Create new account" under the "Log in" button under the password box in the left sidebar of the Home page. Enter your username and a valid email address. An email will be sent to that address to confirm its validity. Receive the email and click on the link there to set your password. You will then be logged in.

  • Becoming a Member. Register your username as instructed above. Go to Home and click the applicable link in the box with "Become a Member now or upgrade your subscription" at the top of it, fill out the form this presents you, follow the pages and make the payment via PayPal. All Memberships/Subscriptions in this box but the last are recurring, meaning that your PayPal account will be charged every month unless you cancel. Canceling is done with PayPal.

  • The Trip Planner™. Activate by filling in the form in the left sidebar of the Home page and clicking "Submit". The form can be brought up on a separate page by hovering your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu and clicking on "The Trip Planner".   • The Daisy Chain of Reloads™. Activate by clicking the link listed to the right of any displayed load data. When actively searching for reloads, this will be from the load list (the List/Manage Loads page), navigated to by hovering the mouse pointer over the "Loads" in the main menu and clicking on "Find Loads". You can also activate the feature from the Home page in the box in the content (middle of the page) labeled with "To see the Daisy Chain of Reloads™ in action...".   • Free Load Posting. You must have already created your username. Log in with this username. Near the top of the middle section of the page and under the blue page header, click on the link with a blue background and yellow letters that says "Click here to sign up for free load posting".

  • Finding the Distance Between Cities. Hover your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu. Click on "Find Loads". The form for Distance Between Cities is below the Radius Searches in the right sidebar and below the Radius Search on the truck list (Trucks->Find Trucks).

  • Search For Loads. Hover your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu. Click on "Find Loads". Use the Load Search form in the left sidebar and the Radius Searches in the right sidebar, together or separately, to display the desired loads.   • Post a Load. Hover your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu. Click on "Post a Load". Click here to watch a video demo/tutorial of how to post a load.   • Post Multiple Loads At Once. Click here to watch a video demo/tutorial of how to post multiple loads at once.

    • Download Excel Template: Hover your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu. Hover over "Post Multiple Loads" and click on "Open/Save Template". This opens a Microsoft Excel file for editing. Save this file to your PC's hard drive for future use. You need do this only once. Follow instructions in the file.

    • Upload Comma-Separated (.csv) Load File on the site: Hover your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu. Hover over "Post Multiple Loads" and click on "Upload CSV Load FIle". On the next page, enter your file name with the path (or "Browse" and select) in the box and submit.

    • Send Comma-Separated (.csv) Load File via Email: Attach the .csv Load File to an email to posting@theloadpost.com and with a subject of "loads".

  • Remove Multiple Loads at once. Hover your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu. Click on "Manage My Loads". Click the "Check all" button at the top and the checkbox for all loads will be checked. The button changes its name to "Uncheck all". Click the "Delete" button and all checked loads will be deleted. You can check as many checkboxes as you want rather than use the "Check all" button before clicking on the "Delete" button.

  • Change a Posted Load. Hover your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu. Click on "Manage My Loads". Click the "Edit" link on the desired load.

  • Match a Load When You Post It. Hover your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu and click on "Post a Load". Choose "Yes" in the first field of the page labeled "List Matching Trucks", fill in the rest of the form and submit.   • Match a Load Already Posted. You must have previously posted at least one load on the site and it still be in the database. Hover your mouse pointer over "Loads" in the main menu and click on "Manage My Loads". Click on "Match Trucks" for the desired load data.   • Search For Trucks. Hover your mouse pointer over "Trucks" in the main menu. Click on "Find Trucks". Use the Load Search form in the left sidebar and the Radius Search in the right sidebar, together or separately, to display the desired loads. Click here to watch a video demo/tutorial of the most powerful searching capabilities in the industry. This video demonstrates the load-list searching, but it also applies to trucks. The only differences are that there is no destination city in the truck data, so there is only a "pick-up city" radius search and the fields by which to search for trucks are specific to trucks rather than loads.

  • Post a Truck. Hover your mouse pointer over "Trucks" in the main menu. Click on "Post a Truck". Click here to watch a video demo/tutorial of how to post a truck.   • Post Multiple Trucks At Once. Click here to watch a video demo/tutorial of how to post multiple trucks at once. This video shows how to post multiple loads rather than trucks, but the process is exactly the same, but you use the "Trucks" main-menu button instead of the "Loads" button.

    • Download Excel Template: Hover your mouse pointer over "Trucks" in the main menu. Hover over "Post Multiple Trucks" and click on "Open/Save Template". This opens a Microsoft Excel file for editing. Save this file to your PC's hard drive for future use. You need do this only once. Follow instructions in the file.

  • Remove Multiple Trucks at once. Hover your mouse pointer over "Trucks" in the main menu. Click on "Manage My Trucks". Click the "Check all" button at the top and the checkbox for all trucks will be checked. The button changes its name to "Uncheck all".   • Change or Delete a Posted Truck. Hover your mouse pointer over "Trucks" in the main menu. Click on "Manage My Trucks". Click the "Edit" or the "Delete" link on the desired truck.

  • Match a Truck When You Post It. Hover your mouse pointer over "Trucks" in the main menu and click on "Post a Truck". Choose "Yes" in the first field of the page labeled "List Matching Loads", fill in the rest of the form and submit.   • Match a Truck Already Posted. You must have previously posted at least one truck on the site and it still be in the database. Hover your mouse pointer over "Trucks" in the main menu and click on "Manage My Trucks". Click on "Match Loads" for the desired load data.   • Upload Authority/Insurance. Hover your mouse pointer over "Docs" in the main menu and click on "Upload Auth & More". On the next page, click on "Upload now" for the document you wish to upload or "Upload a replacement" for any you have already uploaded. You will also need to set a password other than your login password to give to shippers/brokers who need to see/print these docs.   • View Authority/Insurance. Hover your mouse pointer over "Docs" in the main menu and click on "View/Print Auth, Etc". On the next page, enter the username of theloadpost.com Member and the password he/she provided and submit.   • Send Email to Contact On Load or Truck. If a contact name on a load or truck entry is a link, click it. Click here to watch a video demo/tutorial with how to send email to a contact person.   • Get Address or Credit Info On Company. If a company name on a load or truck entry is a link, click on it.   • Email Notifications. Activate by clicking on "MyAccount" in the main menu. On that page and in the section labeled "Emails and Texts", set either the field "Receive Emails For Loads" or "Receive Emails For Trucks" to yes, or both, if you have posted both types of entries. This video also covers set-up to receive texts from the site on your cell phone for the same reasons.

  • Text Notifications. Notification by text message can be activated by going to exactly the same place as for Email Notifications above, but by entering a phone number to receive the texts for loads and/or trucks and choosing the service provider for that/each phone.   • Download Helpful Documents. Hover your mouse pointer over "Docs" in the main menu and click on "Helpful Docs". On the next page, click on the desired document name to open it. Save it for your persona use, if you choose.
